As part of our Summer Event Series, Low Tide hosted Meet Me in Gastown on Thursday, August 15th. Now in its third year, this community event encourages both locals and tourists to visit and support Gastown businesses. This year, Gastown was transformed into a vibrant food festival with entertainment and music all night long.
We would like to give a special shoutout to some of the partners who helped make the event so memorable:
- We collaborated with 15 Gastown restaurants to create the food festival in and around Maple Tree Square. The options were diverse, ranging from Beer Ribeye Tacos at the Monarca tent to Lobster Rolls at the Portside Pub tent.
- The event kicked off with performances by two of our favourite bands, the Sutursonic Band and the Marlin Ramazzini Band.
- Lee’s Donuts sponsored the energetic Vancouver Locking Dance battle on the main stage.
- The Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra returned for a third year with another amazing performance. This year, they partnered with the Lions Gate Chorus for a magical grand finale.
- Water Street, from Carrall Street to Abbott Street, was filled with shopping and activations. From Dynamo Fencing leading demonstrations to Flowstate Hair Design hosting spiritual experiences, it was a great opportunity to learn about some of Gastown’s unique businesses.
- The event didn’t end there, Monarca hosted DJ Farshad to close out the evening on their patio.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event in Gastown, and to all the sponsors, including Reliance Properties, The Salient Group, Community Impact Real Estate Society, Michelle’s Import Plus Ltd., and Westbank.
In addition to Meet Me in Gastown, Low Tide hosted the Strathcona Blocks Party and Flats Fest as part of our Summer Event Series. To learn more about these events, be sure to explore our website stories.
